And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I thought so too, until I managed to break one. A dear friend very carefully and skillfully welded it back together for me; it is in service to this day, and I have acquired several more in my travels. A wonderful tool. Mike in Canada
I won't go near those Estwing hatchets. The narrow steel throat is basically a dull knife. One slip and you are going to darn near sever a finger. I'll stick with a hatchet with a good hickory handle. If I slip, it will hurt like hell, but I'll still have all my fingers.

ReplyDeleteI like Estwing wood splitting tools... I've very nearly beaten one to death but I think it will outlast me when all is said and done.

ReplyDeleteOr, operator error! Don't blame the tool.
