And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Gawd thats a mean looking truck. Next door friend has one, 318, 4 speed, factory high lift, kind of truck to drive around drinking ice cold beers in on a hot day, fly windows open. His 318 purrs like a kitten, Dodge did an awesome job making that series pick up, I think.
That would be perfect with a 300hp, 340. Enough hp/torque, good enough gas mileage, relatively low maint, daily driver. The most upgraded thing I'd have is high energy ignition.
That is what is sitting in my drive way. 1968 dodge w200 sweptline. Starts and runs perfect. But needs new leaf springs. Cannot find for the life of me. Can get made but cost more than I bought truck for. Used to be I could walk into NAPA and order anything for this truck. Not anymore.......
Yikes! I had one of those too!..Ex Forest Service truck. Back when the government auctioned them off for years and miles. Mine had 25,000 on the clock. $1500. in the 70's. I wish I was rich and had a shop like the Garbage King in Tacoma. Maybe I could have kept all my treasures back then. I'm happy now....Couldn't afford the big city taxes and krap today.
I could use that.

ReplyDeleteAnon, perhaps a after market low level lift kit?
DeleteIs it worth measuring them and see if a new vehicle springs would work?
As for pictured truck,is it for sale.....,asking for a friend.
One other thought, can the springs be pulled and re arched or too rusted ect.?
DeleteBeen years since I've had springs rearched or made, but I always used big truck shops. Easy job for them.
