And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The Gauntlet was a great film. Underrated for sure. Likely the critics haven't given it its due because of its portrayal of well-known and well-documented corruption in government and the police.
On my first race boat I had the Death Dealer II was painted on the front. That boat did almost kill me, still have most of the painting from what was left of the boat hanging on the wall. Don't name boats anymore.
I had a neuroradiologist colleague who used Frazetta's art in his neuroanatomy lectures. It was a brilliant counterpoint to some fairly dry stuff. Those points, I'll never forget!
Heh. Watching Josey Wales right now.
ReplyDeleteClint and master artist Frank Frazetta
ReplyDeleteThe poster is for The Gauntlet starring Clint and Sondra Locke.

Remakes always suck.
DeleteEastwood treated Sondra Locke like crap as he did most women. Has as many as 19 kids.
ReplyDeleteEastwood has eight kids.
DeleteLocke literally only had a career because of Clint.
DeleteThat must be the Brainless Libtard Troll commenting again.

ReplyDeleteI've got a copy of the poster, but only because of the Frazetta artwork. Sorry Clint, but The Gaunlet is one of your more disappointing movies.
