These are great for passive storage but not for transporting. Any weight in them causes the center of the lid to bow up when lifted by the handle…

You can get 1000 rds of loose 5.56 in one and it will weigh about 27 lbs, and no, the lid doesn't bow.
Pelican has nice cans.

DeleteThe trouble with these is, they need a non-metallic hinge and latch, to make them suitable for underground caching.
Without it, you may as well just get GI ammo cans, which are sturdier and better built.
