  1. Do we use ionizing radiation in America? When this first came to my attention I was living in California and you can guess which way Commieland jumped on the idea of irradiating food.

    1. We do for some things, such as medical device sterilization.

      For food...? Not sure but I'd guess not thanks to the nuclear Luddite watermelons.

  3. 'Irradiated' does not 'Radioactive'. Irradiated (as far as I know) means subjected to ultra-violet light, like concentrated sunlight, to kill bacteria and germs. It's a common practice.
