  1. Weight over the rear wheels gotta help some.

  2. And hopefully the guy behind him brought a tow cable and drives 4WD truck. Even with the engine weight over the rear wheels, those tires are pretty slim and not made for snow.

    1. Actually skinny tires are better in snow.

  3. VW Beetles were fine in the snow.

  4. That's not enough snow to stop it. He's fine with a rear-engine setup. He's a dope for ignoring the road salt though.

  5. Where's the salt? If he gets home right away, they won't have it salted yet.

  6. Pretty sure that one belongs to Jeff Zwart, who has a ranch in the Colorado high country and knows a thing or two about driving Porsches. He’s fine there, really.

  7. I believe that's a '54. I had a 356A in 1969. I was 18. Got in an accident and totaled it (Not my fault...Really!). Bought a '65 VW van with no engine, put the 1600 cc Porsche engine in (The bolts aligned exactly. Only difference that I recall was the dual carburetors and a few extra bolts to keep the crankcase together). Got pulled over by a CHP going 75 up a steep grade in it and all he wanted to do was look at the engine. No ticket but gave me a skeptical "Good luck" and you all can probably guess how that poor bus met its demise.

    1. Or 55 A. I had a 54 pre A with bent windshield and a smaller rear window. I think the early A’s had the round tail lights like this one.
