Too Far Gone?

  1. There is a green 51 F-2 that I have seen a few times running around here. The guy that owns it did a frame off restoration on it 25 years ago and put a Fox body Mustang GT 5.0 drivetrain in it. He also transferred most of the creature comforts off the donner GT as well.

  2. Maybe not. The sheet metal used back then was a lot thicker than it is now.

  3. A little sand blasting and you'd have an idea about how metal to need to replace.

  4. Probably not, but I'm more interested in what's behind it.

  5. My cousin John (RIP) had one and I assume his wife and daughter still have it. I moved in that thing a number of times in the sixties. I probably couldn't steer it these days.

  6. Not even close to 'too far gone'.

  7. Good headlights, trim, wipers, and windshield. Bet the tires are good too. what you're looking at is just a little patina.

    1. Is it even patina? Could be a vinyl wrap over a sound body. Glass is exceptionally clean, could be a daily driver made to look old and tatty.

  8. What is that vehicle with the split windshield, sitting behind the Ford truck? Is that a Jeep? If it is, it is very valuable.
