And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
L to R, Kermit, Daytona and Pepsi. Rolex wearers about 25 years ago morphed into Eurotrash rentboys seeking to compensate for high estrogen levels and small winkies. All watches over the $4k range are not worth it. I say this as some one who has been a watch guy for 50 years. If you want a good tool watch for not a lot of money get a Seiko Prospex. Damn near indestructible.
I don't own a Rolex. I could afford one but choose not to. However, I do own a homage (copy, not fake) of all three of these, two by Invicta and one by Casio. Works for me. Worn as everyday timepieces not dress watches. I get some favorable comments.
Only reason people wear watches now is to show off how wealthy they are .
ReplyDeleteEvery one I know uses an apple watch
Day I retired I took that sucker off a haven't wore one since.

I've never seen the "beauty" of a Rolex. They look very clunky to me. Excess hardware, way too much chrome.

ReplyDeleteI have a Citizen Eco Drive, still going strong after 15 years, keeps perfect time. I also have my father's Rolex, it runs slow and I rarely wear it.
ReplyDeleteI got a Citizen Eco when I retired 13 years ago. It's my desk clock.
DeleteI put my watch away when I retired.
ReplyDeleteCasio G-Shock, with automatic time update. 80 bucks, and well worth it.
