And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
A very heavily modified Super Cub. The leading edge slat is a mod as are the Fowler flaps and the original rudder was smaller with a rounded profile. The doors have been temporarily removed and I'll bet there's only a gallon or two in the tank to reduce weight for the competition. Al_in_Ottawa
Sherpas have single element flaps, no leading edge slats, three bladed props and different landing gear. There was a company called Alaska Airframes that specialized in creating ultra-STOL Pipers. This looks like one of their creations. Al_in_Ottawa
Alaska Airframes is still grinding ‘em out. Would ‘t surprise me if this one was theirs. 15 knots straight down the lines and a stall speed of 20 leads to a really nice ground speed….
Have you seen the So. Cal. guys with their over powered, under weight, high drag, hill top, hill side lander, hoppers? Some crazy talented, with money, having fun. The bird above, might hang out with them.
That puts the S and the L in STOL.
