And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I had an '83, two door Cherokee Chief. Chrysler engine, Ford transmission, Dana axles, Delco air conditioning compressor...made from parts out of every manufacturer's parts bins. Rolling downhill out of the Rocky Mountains with a tail wind, you might break into low 12 mpg. But the PTO powered winch on the front bumper meant you could drag yourself out of every mudhole you found, and the brown/gold plaid interior was the definition of 1983 style.
2 doors are VERY rare Been watching for one to become available. Had a friend that had one back then. Maybe 1 in 100 is 2 door. I'd put a chevy 350-auto-4x4 drive train in it.
I had a 1976 Cherokee Chief - 360 V8 with 3 speed manual trans - it was on the truck axles and went anywhere that I pointed it. It was a two-door vehicle that ran better than it should have given the way that I treated it.
I'd get rid of the whitewalls.
ReplyDeleteThe breakdown mobile.
ReplyDeleteMy dad had a '65 with that big OHC six. What a piece of crap.
DeleteI'd drive it but I'd prefer a Range Rover classic.
