I use one of these. They work very well.

  2. i guess im just old school, but things that are not battery powered will work every time you need them. don't depend on batteries, they will let you down when you need them the most. that's just been my experience.

    1. Maybe I'm lucky. Been using mine for 5+ years and the batteries haven't failed yet. 99% of the time it's just sitting in the drawer.

  5. One of my Recteq's probes is inaccurate. Per Recteq I need to replace the probe. I have a digital probe I use to confirm the temp of the meats.

  6. I've had one for about a year. I love mine. Works better than the probe on my pellet grill.

  7. By biggest (not so secret) secret. People always ask me how my food is so perfect. I temp every thing and avoid overcooking everything.
