And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Great campsite, as long as the river doesn't come up.
I carried a water leak/flooded floor alarm and placed it under a weighted down bucket (avoids rain and splashes from waders); audible sounds when contacts get wet. Yes, short notice, but if low enough, provides time to get out of bag and tent.
Yeow!!! That scoured gravel bar is proof that the water was high-and-fast in the recent past.

ReplyDeleteReminds me of the Flathead on the Canadian border , and yeah the bears were a thing. But the black flies were more worser.
