Find out who, or what, is messing around outside at night

  1. 4 batteries don't last long, in my experience. Some models can accept either 4 or 8 for operation, this one looks like it's limited to 4. Used both, prefer the 8, and use lithium rechargeables which work great.

  2. I only use cameras that accept an external 12vdc power source (solar panel/battery pack). They work great.

    1. Indeed, it does seem a bit limiting. Not knowing how many "sessions" of filming would make it very difficult to know when to change the batteries. When I saw the yellow batteries in the pic, they reminded me of some that came with a solar-charged light I had once so figured that's how this one worked. Thanks for the clarification.

  3. I have 5 of these around the property and the only drawback is removing the SD card to review the pictures. The new cams are much better but cost more of course. Deer hunters in my area use these where the pics sent to you directly to your cell phone.

  4. Go solar or an external battery pack. I have 2 trail-cams. One is a 8 AA battery and the other is an 8 battery with solar recharger. The 8 battery will last 5 or 6 days before it dies. The solar recharger unit will fill the SD card and I only had to charge the batteries initially.
