    1. Its a flat bottomed barge. The bow sprit is stowed in upward position. Traditional lugger sail plan.

  2. And, at certain periods in history, also bubonic.

  3. Sailed by "a man and a boy" (the boy could be pretty old). Used for bulk cargos, e.g., hay to London for horses, before automobiles and trains.
