And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I've got a $21.95 Casio World Time (Casio Royale) that's more accurate, has 5 alarms, a stopwatch (chronometer) and can display times from about 40 cities around the globe, plus has a lighted dial and a 10 year battery life. Think I can get him to trade?
Rolex makes good watches but I don't need to pay thousands for a celebrity endorsed "collectible" that thieves will target. I beat up a series of watches until I found a Rado Diastar with its sapphire crystal and scratch proof tungsten carbide bezel. In five years of abuse I haven't put a mark on it and it keeps time. And here I sit with the same $20 Timex that I've had for at least 15 years. It has the white face and big numbers with Indiglo. I can read it without my glasses and that's really the main criteria.
The red arm is out of place. I am thinking knock-off. I have a 72 Submariner that is the least expensive Submariner that was available during the early 70's. My uncle was a Jeweler that had Rolex training. He took what was to become my watch in on an upgrade. It was a 14 year old watch that had sat in his display case for almost 2 years. He offered it to me at a quarter of it's marketable value when I graduated my USAF technical school. He serviced it for free over the years. When a Rolex starts loosing time it needs to be serviced. If constantly worn it needs to be serviced every 3-5 years. My uncle passed away 20 years ago. The Rolex still works but it looses 20 minutes in a day. It is $1600 to service it. Unserviced it is worth about $2k. With a service it is worth about $10k which is cheap for a stainless Rolex Submariner regardless of the vintage. The watch has been my unused "get out of jail free" bargaining chip on my deployments in the military. Outside of the military the only time I wear it is for social functions.
