And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Dumped a lifelong subscription for that reason, when I got a new NatGeo towards end I looked for the first mention of Global warming. Sometimes in opening editorial, maybe in a Dinosaur article but it was there somewhere.
Ah National Geographic used to be a fantastic magazine. Sometime in the late 80's or early 90's is when they transitioned to a mostly ads and lecture magazine and I canceled my subscription.
I subscribed to Nat Geo for many decades, and I kept each issue. I packed and carried hundreds of issues from Philadelphia to Washington, DC, back to Philly and eventually to Bucks County, PA. Then 20 years later, when I was getting ready to move (again), I inventoried my entire collection, pulled out about a half dozen issues that I wanted to keep and then drove to two or three "old folks' homes" and dropped off all but the half dozen. It's been (maybe) ten years since I had a subscription. My local car repair shop keeps current issues in his waiting room so I can see what a mess the once-terrific and meaningful magazine has become.
I was fortunate to be member of the Ca CCC stationed at Mt. San Jacinto adjacent to Hurkey Creek State park in Riverside County in the early 80’s. We built an access trail to the PCT nearby that remains a fond memory. My only time using dynamite. Good times.
All the stories above mirror my experience. I loved Nat Geo and read them from cover to cover and kept all of my copies. I drug them along with me through 10 years and 7 PCS moves in the Army. Sometime around when I ETSed in 1993 I started to notice the libtard, eco fascist bent to their articles. It didn’t take long until I shit canned my subscription. As Donald J Trump has stated everything Woke turns to shit and it was a God Damned shame.
I hiked a portion of the PCT, in Washington, many years ago, and it was a great trip. But, a girl I went to high school with hiked the full length. She did it in stages, so it took her 4 spring/summers.
Before they went nuts on the Gaia/Global Warming schtick and then went Woke.
ReplyDeleteA magazine (and an organization) worthy of respect

once a great magazine, like scientific american was a great magazine. now both are marxist fecal matter.
ReplyDeleteMakes you wonder if now they have a similar Spanish language edition titled "Del Tapon el Darién a Estados Unidos"?
