  1. Couple of white guys... hmmmm. I'm amazed Paul Newman is still on his label. I miss the Land O' Lakes papoose. She was hot. Aunt Jemima? Not.

  4. To make it a true can off coffee, they need to make them with the key to roll open the the strip of steel. Mom would let my brother or me open the cans as long as we were careful not to cut ourselves on that sharp strip. It was cool the way the key would roll up the seal.

  5. Paul V brings back memories. Now for even more history. HARVEY HOUSES. You can read about Fred Harvey and his restaurants at main stations along the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe. Fred insisted on good quality coffee. He searched for a product and in the early 1880's he found two men in Boston who would make a blend perfect for his Harvey Houses. They were Mr. Chase and Mr. Sanborn. Please read more about Harvey Houses. There is even a book of his restaurant's recipes.
