And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Came across an article the other day in which comments from foreigners were put together regarding every state in the US. For CA, the comment they highlighted was "NIGHTMARE DISGUISED AS A DREAM." As a S. CA native (no longer there, NEVER going back), I can say 100% right on the money...and its been that way for decades now (but the 60s-80s were great there).
