And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
2 bugs and bus, we VW people scored this week! As a plus dogs or girls in all of them!! It's been a long time since I was out in the desert, I just looked .. it was 2018...
Monument is iconic and happy to say I checked it off the travel list for the sake of saying I did it, but overall found it underwhelming and not worth a stand alone trip.
I did it on a horseshoe bend (also not worth a stand alone trip), monument, and Grand Canyon loop.
Yes, a proper one. I've had a few back when one could buy them for under $100. A Moke, some 850's, a couple of 997,998 cc versions, and the glorious 1275 Cooper S Stage 3. Did you happen to notice the Proper Landie in two of the pictures? Later 88, the earlier ones of which I had several, and some 109's as well. Five door Safari Wagon, RHD.
Ah nostalgia ....I am here but wish I was there. Loved the dog pics. , truly mans best friend. Be here now.
ReplyDeleteThe smiling girl with the happy white dog in a VW Bug headed for fun ... brings back memories of a simpler life.

The guy getting talked off the cliff is classic. I'd like to continue down the one with the desert road.

ReplyDeleteI always enjoy any and all of your "Open Roads" photo essays, but I especially love the photos with the dogs.
ReplyDeleteNice set, but that tent pitched on the national bridge isn't going to stay up forever
