And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Love all but #1. Who, buffeted by a tiny stray gust over the lake doing that stunt, dipped a tad, caught that left wheel full-on, ground-looped into the water, which is concrete-hard at 70 knots, and joined the ranks of missing bush pilots who never landed, forever. That's dumbassery on a monumental scale, even if it's just him alone in that heap, because it won't be just him doing the search party for three days.
Guy deserves a rabbit dick-punching with brass knuckles for that stupid-ass stunt. Along with the co-conspirator who took the pic, even if it was "just for the photo op", because some other @$$hole will try it all by themselves, and we're right back to jackassery and a missing pilot.
You wanna kill yourself with an airplane involved? Take up skydiving. If it goes south, there's less mess to clean up, and no one has to wonder what happened to you, or waste time and effort trying to find the leftovers. /rant
YAY, REO!
ReplyDeleteThat tunnel looks a great deal like one I used to know near Donner's Pass...
ReplyDeletelooks like the hawks nest on the delaware
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing on number 14. Beautiful drive, any time of year, but especially gorgeous in the fall.
DeleteDid that boat sink at it's mooring is the wreck buoyed?
ReplyDeleteA wonderful set of pix. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGot that fall feeling to it…
ReplyDeleteLove the autumn chicane
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo essay! Thank you kindly.
ReplyDeleteFunny, first saw these on phone and thought boat sunk was a Blue Whale.

Concur.
DeleteAgreed.
DeleteI'm a retired airline pilot and picture #1 is wreckless beyond words. Both pilots should lose their licenses for that stunt.

LOL. Perhaps dumb, but since there’s photo evidence I’m pretty sure no one is going to wonder what happened.
DeleteThanks for opening up.
ReplyDeleteNice pair of 50s Mercury's. Those taillights bring stupid money for restorers or customizers.
ReplyDeleteSome gems this week. Always look forward to this. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the one with the dog.
