  3. She is on the outside of the points and her head is close enough to rail height she isn't going to be brushed by anything going by. If her eggs can tolerate the vibrations that's not such a bad nest location.

    1. It's a safe location. The frog protects the nest and since the flanges of the tires are inside the track, and she is on the outside, none of the rolling stock will affect her. That's a sharp little bird.

  6. Pure luxury. We had to get up half an hour before we went to bed, eat a hand full of cold gravel for breakfast and sweep the station with a toothbrush.

  7. It's a Killdeer bird... they will study and study an area like that... they pick a high traffic area as an impediment to other birds and animals of prey...smart birds
