Keeping a close eye on all potential watermelon thieves.
I remember the first watermelon I stole, around age six. My aunt, with whom I was staying, came out to the porch, took a look at the ragged state of my britches from the rock salt, and came back out a couple minutes later with a knife and a sittin' pillow. "You earned that one boy, fair and square. Enjoy it". Great Georgia watermelon. I miss that woman - named my youngest after her.
Got 6 almost ready,1 to take to the mountains this weekend. Will keep the gates locked at home.
ReplyDeleteA little late. National Watermelon Day was August 3rd
