  2. On the subject of pizza does anyone have (or used) one of those portable gas pizza ovens? How did it work out for you?

    1. I bought an Ooni 16 inch. The oven reaches over 750 degrees temperature. I have found that a 16 inch pie is impossible (for me) because it starts to burn. I can make one 12 or 13 inch pie at a time, takes only a minute before you have to manually spin the pie to keep the charring to minimum. Of course, YMMV. I like the oven but it is cumbersome to make multiple pizzas and you cannot make them very thick. The flavor is outstanding!

    2. So it's a 12", thin crust and it cooks fast... An problems with the oven itself? Storage or keeping it clean?

    3. For cleaning you just pull the pizza stone out and wipe it off with damp paper towel. The heat keeps it all naturally clean. I have a covered bbq area, I just leave the oven sitting on table, but you can fold the legs and place oven in a storage shelf. The Ooni is really well made. Great family pizza night tool, just a bit pricey. I'm happy to have it. DC

  3. The idea of a pizza oven is to make gourmet thin crust minimal toppings pizza pie. Turning frequently. I've got an 8 grand wood fired oven in my back yard.

  5. Are those habaneros on that pizza?

  6. Topping needs to go nearer the edge, too much dried up pizza base there.
