And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Split level and converted garage into living space. Inefficient use of space and hard to heat and air condition. Must be California with a mild climate.
Yup, that's what my AO looked like. I was raised ('51-'69) in the foot hills east of San Diego, La Mesa, Spring Valley, El Cajon. It was a safe, non Commie/perv/diverse paradise. Some days in summer, the the crew might bike 50+ miles out and back. You could strap a surplus pack and a rifle on and bike to a "wander around armed" areas and shoot the murderous ground squirrels (rats with semi bushy tails) with nary a police contact. Glad I didn't know what was going on behind the scenes back then.
I don't aspire for that life anymore. Don't get me wrong, I lived in suburban paradise for 25 years, I see why people like it. But not me. Nearest house is 200 yds away, and thats too close.
Hey, that’s the Brady house!
ReplyDeleteWhat could be wrong with a T-Bird in the driveway?
ReplyDeleteBet it has a sunken living room.

We even had a lamp like that in our front yard.
ReplyDeleteTree Mike, and others, echo my thoughts about what was vs what is.
ReplyDeleteIf I think about it very much, I can't sleep.
