And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Nice, dad had a 65 Bonneville that was that color. It was a fully loaded 2 door with leather interior and the 389 engine. It had a huge back seat. He got it when he got a huge promotion at work. Dad traded mom's car for a Camero RS when they came out. My mother got the Bonneville and drove it until 75 where it was traded for a Grandville 4-door that had a ho-hum 400 in it. I was learning to drive the last year we had the Bonneville. That car would haul ass.
I even like the paint… sold!!
ReplyDeleteHad a 65 version of that. 326 and it was a flying machine. Best 500 dollars I ever spent.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that back in the day we didn't think much of the Le Mans. I had a buddy who called his mother's Le Mans "Le Mon". Guess we were just stupid.
ReplyDeleteI had one just like that. Same color even. 326 with a 3 speed on the floor. Cost me about $3,600.00 new off the lot.---ken

ReplyDeletePontiac had the most ridiculous looking front bumpers.........
ReplyDeleteYes Pontiac did have ridiculous looking front bumpers. And you could get them in plastic or chrome.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see this one hasn't been cloned to a GTO.
ReplyDeleteNot really a fan. The front end look disproportionately long. Much prefer the Mustang in the post above this one.
ReplyDeleteTo each, his own.
One fine ride! Before Pontiac lost it's way. (Let's not even think about what happened to Oldsmobile!) Arghhh! Bean-counters!
ReplyDeleteThank God vinyl roofs fell out of style.
