  1. An upgraded version I used for years on work-related projects, until I wore it out...has all the right details and features. This is the one to get when the DeWALT or Bosch aren't in the budget.

  3. I did a bunch of web research & this is the one I was looking at. First thing to go would be the stand

    1. Elaborate a little further. If the saw is as dependable as my Skil wormdrive circular then I bet this is a very fine table saw. What's with the stand?

    2. Go in the store and stand in front of one and pretend you are using it. You'll quickly find yourself tripping on that massive apparatus. That's not a good place to be with that blade trying to cut your arms off.

I've had the DeWalt version for 20+ years and the first thing to go, after the blade guard, was the stand. I built a stable platform out of 3/4" cabinet plywood and 4" locking casters. The DeWalt has the best fence on the market.
