Love shop vacs

  1. Like some other things, in shop vacs size matters. Of the drum and the motor. Bigger the better.

  2. A wet/dry shop vac can be a HUGE plus if you get a water leak indoors.

  3. I now prefer the smaller version but gall damn that thing is loud. When fighters take off in afterburners I turn the shop vac on to drown out the fighter noise.

  4. I don't object to them being made of plastic, but I object to them being made cheaply. Used mine for water-leak cleanups more than once, it's a 'must have'. Also works very well as a poor-boy sawdust collector in my wood shop.

  5. I have a DeWalt shop vac about half that size, owned it for maybe 20 years. It's never missed a beat. If the new ones are half as good as the old ones I would heartily recommend buying one if you're in the market for a shop vac.

  6. everything about a shopvac is designed to kill your back and inconvenience you.

  7. I've had 4 for more than 20 years. From the little 1 gal one up to the giant 8hp yellow-black, wet-dry one. ALL are the "Shop Vac" brand. No regrets. Yes, all the accessories too.
