Cute, and Useful

  1. I still have mine from the 1960s. It looks quite similar to what is shown. Holds an edge, razor sharp, a very thin blade.

  2. I've got one of those but it's made by Suncraft. Don't think I have ever used it for fruit but it does a fine job butterflying shrimp.

  3. When I lived in Japan in the 70s, I watched many okasans prepare fruit with these. Mostly peeling nashi (Japanese pears) to get at the sweet flesh inside.

  5. I own one of these (or a knock-off) purchased in an local Asian grocery store. It slices like the dickens - wicked sharp.
