And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
When I lived in Japan in the 70s, I watched many okasans prepare fruit with these. Mostly peeling nashi (Japanese pears) to get at the sweet flesh inside.
I still have mine from the 1960s. It looks quite similar to what is shown. Holds an edge, razor sharp, a very thin blade.
ReplyDeleteI've got one of those but it's made by Suncraft. Don't think I have ever used it for fruit but it does a fine job butterflying shrimp.

ReplyDeleteI own one of these (or a knock-off) purchased in an local Asian grocery store. It slices like the dickens - wicked sharp.
