And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

By the power vested in me by no one, I hereby declare June to be Family Pride Month. The flag is the American flag.
I was mom's little blonde haired blue eyed baby boy, two years later my hair started to change and I turned brunet and my eyes grayed a little. Now in my sixties I'm a blondie again, OK gray but close
What conclusion was that? You stated "There's too many people on this planet." in a discussion about family size. I gave you a way to help depopulate the planet. Did I miss something?
People that say that we are overpopulated are small thinkers and pessimists. There is plenty of scientific discovery to be had and plenty of empty space to move into and plenty of undiscovered resources. The problems we have are typically due to bad government, bad cultures, and bad religions.
It's hard to keep track of the who & what when dealing with Anonymous, but having all the follow up comments appear looking like a thread... well it's difficult to not think I'm replying to what was said. As to being called an "idiot" when dealing with people who "think you have too many kids because there are too many people already" department, you're about on course.
I count myself fortunate, to come from a family of 8 kids with Christian parents, and even now all my brothers and sisters (5 brothers, two sisters) remain close, if not in proximity, in hearts, and if and when a need arises we are rally to each other. Wonderful!
I was raised in a family of 7 kids - four girls and three boys. We lived in a smallish, four bedroom house. (...less than 1100 sq/ft.) Us three boys shared a room, and the 4 girls shared 2 rooms. Mom and Dad got the other one. All nine of us shared *one* bathroom. When I grew up and joined the Navy, I chose the submarine service. In a lot of ways, it was like being home again. (Ironically, the first time I got a room to myself was when I spent a weekend in the brig!) As far back as I can remember, we always had a big station wagon as the family car.
As to the blonde headed kid, forget the hair and look close at their faces. You can tell they are all brothers and sisters, and their features resemble those of the mother and father. Neither my mother nor my father had blonde hair, but two of my sisters did.
Based on the photo alone, it looks like it might be a fun family... Except for the fact that they are standing on an active railroad track with an impending storm looming behind them. I wonder what the story is on that.
My Dad has been gone for 35 years, but my Mom is still with us. She will be 93 later this year and still lives in that same house.
Roy, like you, I always shared a room with at least one of my brothers, and often 3 of my brothers. I also volunteered for the submarine service when in the Navy. My Dad died almost 20 years ago, but Mum, who will be 92 this year, is still with us. God Bless.
Dude is definely not shooting blanks.
ReplyDeleteFamily is great! But, that many kids is insanity!
ReplyDeleteSomething a statist would say.
DeleteActually it's a lot of fun until they all need shoes at the same time! Once you get past that problem it's fun again...
DeleteThey all have dads' head except the one in glasses. Adopted?
ReplyDeleteLooking at various faces and the background, I suspect that that is a dude with two wives.
ReplyDeleteB.E.A. UTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteBlond kid’s the milkman’s… he had some pride as well…

DeleteI once knew a couple who, with their combined family, had 16 kids... Some of hers, some of his, and some of theirs. Wow. But, they did fine.
ReplyDeleteHear, hear! Yes!
ReplyDeleteHere's where I opine: There's too many people on this planet.
ReplyDeleteLook up Dr Kevorkian, he had a way to help you depopulate the planet.
DeleteOf course you can have and can state your opinion. But facts disagree with your conclusion.

DeleteOK, "Rob," you may not realize that every comment listed after yours is not directed at you. Either way, you're an idiot.

DeleteI had the same experience, 8 kids, 5 boys and 3 girls, very grateful how my parents raised us.
DeleteIs this your real family? You Win! Very nice, especially if everyone stays close to each other.
ReplyDeleteUsed to be farmers always had big families; they needed the free labor.
ReplyDeleteI second the motion.
