Patso Veshaguridze, Georgian fighter against the Soviet occupation of Georgia, 1930s

Giorgi (Fatso) Veshaguridze (1917-1944), Georgian highlander from the village Zemo Alvani was a fighter for the independence of Georgia against the communists. He may have known that he could do nothing with a small fight against the Red regime, which killed at least 32 million people in the Soviet Union (Lenin - 9 million and Stalin - 23 million), but that was his protest. He could not stand the injustice that befell Georgia in 1921 and the fact that his country was doomed by the world to the communist plague. He became a member of the Georgian nationalist organization - "Samani". Fatso was a very smart, nimble fighter. Even after a long period of persecution, the communists could not defeat him. So his family was attacked and his weak point - family members, Beloved people were used - unjustly was arrested his wife and three sisters. In exchange for the release of his wife and sisters, Fatso surrendered to the militia, but the butchers broke the word, the girls were not released, and his wife was deported forever. Giorgi himself was shot without trial. There are no descendants of Patso Veshaguridze. His siblings still live in Zemo Alvani.
