  1. Good golly. What branch of homo erectus has reduced to this?

  2. I have a simpler one radial cooktop that you place skillet on to cook food. This is one way of grilling food for indoor apartment people.

  5. Back in the day, say the 1950's, they had this thing called an "electric skillet". Square, non-stick, plugs into any outlet. My grandmother had one and could cook anything on it. Passed it on to me. I used it for years. Eventually became a camping skillet for any campgrounds where 110 was available. That thing had to be over 50 years old, just wouldn't die. Perfect for hamburger helper. My wife eventually threw it away. Dang. And it was a simple one piece design. I bet that thing above wouldn't last 5 years before crapping out. I'd give good money to get my Grandmother's electric skillet back. The good old days.

    1. I remember that. The reason it lasted so long was the gauge of the wires and the thickness of the metal. Take one of these new replicants apart and if you could compare it against the original the difference would be obvious.
I remember on holidays when all the burners on the stove were in use my father making gravy in it.

  6. I suppose products along these lines seem reasonable to people who live in small sealed boxes hundreds of feet off the ground.

  7. Smokeless? When I cook on the grill the whole neighborhood knows it.

  8. Electric skillet for two, size reduced so we can charge more. Sadly, even the standard size ones these days are cheap crap- but as a kitchen appliance, only the microwave is more useful.

  9. Until I saw one actually in use I'd have to call it a gimmick.
