And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I was taught in grade school that birds have specially designed bones (VERY hollow) that allow them to fly. If their bones were as dense as other animals, they would be too heavy to fly. It just now hit me - how can they eat animals whole like that and still fly? Won't they be too heavy? What if the mouse just ate a big meal too?
I would guess most raptors are such powerful birds a full belly wouldn't make much difference. I once surprised a Golden Eagle while I was crossing a creek on a quad. He was 25' away from me when he lifted off and I could definitely feel his prop wash. It was a mighty strong breeze. And have you ever watched an Osprey lift out of the water with his lunch? Powerful, even when wet.
I'm going to the dentist on Monday
