And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Yes, thank God for people like us. The few, the proud....
We've gone down a bad path since this was first published. Now there's boiling-over emotion at things that matter none at all, and absolute complacency in the face of our slaughter.
I had a big ole 1970 Kenworth cabover that I got a local artist to paint a three-foot picture of R. Crumb's Father Time on. Instead of Keep On Truckin'", the caption read "Just Passin' Thru". https://tinyurl.com/y35nhe4u God I miss that old girl.
