And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The Pan American Airways “American Clipper” over New York in 1931. She was one of three Sikorsky S-40 amphibians and could carry a total of thirty-eight passengers.
We are looking south; down the Hudson River. Manhattan on our right. The soldiers and sailors monument is plainly visible under the port wing. It seems like all the pictures of skyscrapers and flying aircraft show a haze. Smog? We sure have cleaned things up since then
As I look out upon this homestead towering above the valley on an alluvial hill in these Buckeye Hills the New York aerial view seems like something I read in Dante's Inferno years ago .
Igor Sikorsky = pure genius. His S-64 helicopter design is still cutting edge 70 years later, thanks in no small part to fellow genius Jack Erickson.

note the rail tracks. the further west side was one long terminal, track, elevated and street level.
Deletethis was originally the Lehigh Valley terminal on the Hudson River, note the detail, etc. Art Deco, I believe. A showpiece. Still there.
