And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
1970, my pal's dad buys him an MG Midget for graduation. there's a '67 XKE on the floor @4K. we talked about it for years, that is the Jag should have been snagged, my pal has a '67 now, finally.
As much as I agree that the E type is a classic beauty, the predecessors are classic in their own way. The C and D types almost got it right, but of course were track only. The XK120 started a great look: I always think of a woman’s body draped in satin. Sad that the 140 and 150 couldn’t keep the sexy look. The 20 years after WW2 were good for the gents in Coventry.
Best ever.
ReplyDeleteMost beautiful car ever
ReplyDeleteAlways reminded me of an an aardvark. Search images of aardvark cartoons.
ReplyDeleteInferior electrics!
ReplyDeleteBS Bodged wiring by clueless American mechanics. Owned four classic Jaguars, correct the clueless 'repairs' and they were dead reliable.
DeleteStyled by the genius Malcolm Sayers, as fast as a Ferrari and more beautiful at half the MSRP. And the sound!

ReplyDeleteNow I believe that the GT-40 and Sandra Bullock have that distinction
Car of my dreams! I was only 12...forgive me
ReplyDeleteI would commit numerous felonies and break at least 2 of the Commandments for one.
