And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Ok, I'm getting some. Taste test report once they arrive.
Also called a Russian Sardine. It is canned just like our sardines but they are 4" to 5" without the head with all the popular flavors; oil, tomato, chili, and mustard. I could get them when I was in Asia.
I like the Riga brand. The oil in them gives them a kind of "nutty" flavor. A Canuck friend of mine introduced me to them several years ago and told me to try dipping some bread in the oil once the fish were gone. I did and it was very good. Best of luck.
Eh! a herring, by any other name...

ReplyDeleteI don't think that there is a sardine canned in the US anymore.
DeleteThe Old Riga brand in oil is my favorite. They are from Latvia.
ReplyDeleteTry it with peaches.
