And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

If you leave your shoes lying around long enough, they'll turn into a cat
Or, if your wife goes on a cleaning binge, while you're out of town, she'll throw away a pair of early 1980s Nikes, still in great condition, which I could now probably sell for 10 times or more what I paid for them. She now knows not to throw away any of my clothes, shoes, or other gear without my okay.
