And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Hurst advertisement featuring AMC Javelin and AMX, 1968
Back in '78, one enterprising young lady I was infatuated with at the time would always bring a pillow along, so she could sit closer while I was driving. At least that was her explanation for the pillow.
My '71 Mustang Mach 1 had the stock auto shifter, running a factory Fairbanks modified C-6, pushed by a 429/SCJ. My '66 Ranchero had that Hurst shifter on a toploader 4spd from another Mustang. (the original auto buyer only had one arm, hence the trans choice)
First thing that came to mind upon seeing the T handle Hurst was the memory of going to work one morning in my '67 GTO. Pretty sure the temp was below zero that day, and w/o gloves I discovered that I could make it across town in 2nd.
Had one of them T-Handle HURST shifters on my 1971 Mustang Mach I

DeleteJohn, I had some fun rides in my Mach I especialy in the back seat. Trying to pay off the car left me no money for motels.
