And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Hate to break it to everyone but that is a Navy Ship and looks like a Navy Chief on the cannon. An officer would have a gold band on the cap. The band on this is ambiguous but I am going to go with black, for a chief.
Band looks gold and that is also the officer's crest on his Combination cap. Why such a mag would have Army at war, with a Naval Officer on the cover is something of a mystery.
