I covet the green one

  1. Is it really green?
Or is it silverish, and just reflecting the green at the shell rim?

  2. Most colored pearls are dyed. Pearls are sorted for size and roundness/blemishes, then a necklace is made with pearls of similar characteristics. There are large pearl farms in the PI. You can boat right up to them but I wouldn't as they are watched over by armed guards. In the past my Filipina wife and I have bought probably a hundred or more sets of pearl necklaces and ear rings in Quezon City, a little north of Manila at the Green Hills shopping mall. There are 100 or more booths of sellers all in one area. To see that many pearls and pearl related items in one compressed spot is astonishing.

    1. So, you're saying they have separate areas for white and colored?
