And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

I'd drive that (although I'd also bet that it gets about six miles per gallon).
My Blazer only gets about 14 but I drive less than 2k per year so the cost isn't so bothersome. But yeah, I could get used to that thing real quick. Deck the back end out with prep stuff, few toolz, that tall jack, couple gunz, etc. Climb right up there and sit on the fender for changing the plugs, adjusting the carb., etc. Speaking of fenders, you can drill and tap em. Hale yeah!
I used to have a '64 Suburban and I've been kicking my own ass for 30-years for letting it get away from me. It had three Alcan highway and two Departmento Turismo decals on the dash. 292-six with a granny 1st gear, it would pull dang near anything.
You can always 'restomod' these bad boys...put in an LS type engine with a PCM/fuel injection etc. and get a LOT more MPG out of them....and more power. Win/Win.
I had a 1964 power wagon. Wish I had pictures, damn sure wish I had kept it.
ReplyDeleteThat thing was a beast. I was 15, my first ride.
