And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

My similar experience involves frying two brand new heads on an 8V-71 lower motor, three grand in parts and the machine was finished for the season.
The foreman's name was Dick. He refused to believe the engine was overheating without ever once climbing up into the cab and looking at the gauges. So I followed his orders and fried it. And the owners of the company thought he was their best foreman.
He didn't break it. The guy who failed to inspect for fatigue cracks broke it.
