And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

California Gold Country
Called the youngest daughter last Saturday to see what she was up to. Turned out she was on a hike to the top of Table Mountain, near Sonora. She sent me this picture.
Never been there, but figured that must have been New Melones down there. Then after searching 'Table Mountain, Tuolumne County' I found it, along with many photos just like your daughter's. If it's like the Table Mountain in Butte County the wildflowers up on top are just about to start popping. Really pretty.
