And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Florida was decommissioned/scrapped in 1932. Oklahoma was the first of the oil burners. During modernization in 1927-1929 her “birdcage” masts were replaced with a tripod configuration. Severely damaged in the attack on Pearl Harbor, Oklahoma was stripped of useable components. Decommissioned and sold for scrap after the war, in 1947 she sunk under tow in a storm enroute to San Francisco. During a similar period of modernization, masts of USS Arizona (BB-39) were also replaced with a tripod configuration.
It better have a long-loiter time as one of the BB's is not even stoked-up!
