And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Road trip to Mount Shasta this afternoon, to see the Fall color and fresh snow on the high country.

Black Butte
Mount Shasta from the town of Mount Shasta (not to be confused with the towns of Shasta and Shasta Lake).
Love that country. Mt. Shasta City, home of the original Black Bear Diner, a long time favorite. Also very fond of the Hi-Lo Cafe in Weed. Made it to the summit once from the Clear Creek route (eastside).
Learned to ski up there at the Shasta Ski Bowl back in the '70's. I heard the area got moved due to avalanche issues. Over the years always wanted to try to ski down black butte.
Beautiful. I can smell the fresh, cool Fall air from here.
ReplyDeleteThose are great pictures.
I can see you in the hotrod touring in my minds eye. Scenery is outstanding.
