Rejected designs for the Eiffel Tower

  1. Middle tier, second from the left. There appears to be a transition 3/5 of the way up. Those look like stairs going round, and round, and round the exterior. That transition point is the expected point of "I can't continue to go up, and I'm too wiped out to walk all the way down!" Which is also the point at Darwin takes over, and the weak of mind and/or body decide they are high enough to do a proper job of ending all the misery.

  2. Middle/middle is far too reminiscent of Bruegel's Tower of Babel.

  3. At the rate of decline France is exhibiting, the tower will be replaced by a minaret in a few more years.
