  2. I have the non-rechargeable version of this and it is great. With the regular California power outages to endure on a regular basis my flashlight gets plenty of use. Living in lion and bear country, I use this to light up my surroundings as I tend to things here on the ranch. I can easily light up my three-acre front yard with this. The strobe capability scares off any wildlife ... at least it did a couple of coyotes I encountered. It does eat batteries a bit, so this rechargeable version is a nice improvement. If you are confused by an on/off button that allows you to cycle through the three different modes (solid light, strobe flash, sos flash)then this isn't for you. As for me, when I go to check on the livestock in the stygian darkness of the Sierra Nevada's, this is what I take.
