And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I grew up in the southeast and learned how to surf in the 4 foot waves of St. Augustine (they were rare) and off the coast of the Carolina's. In my late teens I got to experience southern California's 6 foot waves and they were great. Much easier to ride than a 4' wave. Then I went to Hawaii on the North Shore where I said screw that to the 14+ foot waves.
