Briceburg Fire down by Yosemite, in the dry foothills

I've tromped around in this country.  Lots of dry brush, highly flammable.

As of 7:10 a.m., the Briceburg Fire burning near Highway 140 and Briceburg Bridge Road north of the town of Midpines had doubled overnight to 3,600 acres with only 10 percent containment, according to CalFire. An AA51 firefighting plane responding to the blaze reportedly estimated it had grown to more than 4,000 acres.
Highway 140, one of the three major routes from the west and south to Yosemite National Park, remained closed between Colorado Road and Savages Trading Post.

  1. I guess they didn't shut off the power lines soon enough. yeah right.

  2. If CA would decriminalize clearing brush, I'm guessing there would be fewer infernos and more power to homes, businesses, traffic lights, etc.
