And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My father in law had a similar old S&W revolver. Chambered in 32-20. When he passed, the fam had me unload it for them (!). The finish was about as worn out and awful as it could be - but it functioned perfectly.
I had an old 1917 Smith in 45 ACP many moons ago. I wished I'd kept it. Those were a working man's tools.
